SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, May 14, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- MasterControl, a provider of software solutions that enable life science and other regulated companies to deliver life-improving products to more people sooner, today announced that Erin Wright, Validation Product Manager and Jared Evans, Professional Instructor at MasterControl will be speaking at the upcoming ASQ World Conference on Quality and Improvement.

Erin Wright, who spearheaded the efforts pertaining to the development of MasterControl’s groundbreaking Validation Excellence Tool (VxT), which streamlines the risk-assessment process and reduces validation time will present, “Are You Intimidated by Cloud-Based Automation in Life Sciences?” on Monday, May 20, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. at ASQ World. The topic will cover why cloud-based, SaaS applications remain intimidating to life science manufacturers and startups in medical technology and pharmaceutical industries and discuss the fears and misconceptions about the cloud and provide deeper insights as to the benefits that will ultimately help these businesses move from tedious, manual, and often paper-based processes to a digital environment. Additionally, Wright will speak to how companies in the highly regulated life sciences industry are at risk of falling behind, and how in today's competitive digital business landscape, life science companies must embrace a more modern approach to quality, compliance, and regulatory-related processes to achieve greater success.

Having joined MasterControl in 2013, Wright has worked with hundreds of regulated companies, including the FDA’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER), Ancestry.com, Abbott Point of Care, Institute for Transfusion Medicine (ITxM), and the University of Utah, in conducting custom validation implementations. She has over a decade of experience in quality and validation in SaaS industries, including working for an automated-testing software company and several clinical-trial software providers.

Additionally, Jared Evans, Professional Instructor at MasterControl, will present “Where Quality, Technology and Humans Meet,” at ASQ World on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. As a part of the presentation, Evans will speak to how companies should leverage disruptive technologies to support, augment and extend human abilities, not replicate or replace them and how technology will perform the repetitive, manual and time-consuming tasks that have traditionally impeded efficiency and innovation, leaving true ingenuity, craftsmanship, and the most meaningful work to humans. Specifically, addressing the manufacturing industry, Evans will go in-depth on how trends will continue to lean heavily toward automated and connected technology – including artificial intelligence (AI), data analytics and smart manufacturing – a movement called Industry 4.0, or digital transformation and why preserving the human element is critical to the manufacturing landscape of today – and tomorrow.

Evans, who has over two decades of experience with quality engineering, training and internal auditing in the high-volume semiconductor industry, and in retail sales and management, served as a consultant for Fortune 500 companies such as Intel, Micron, Target and Macy’s prior to his tenure at MasterControl. He has conducted thousands of training sessions and over 550 internal audits – many involving ISO 14000 and ISO 9001 – and safety audits. Throughout his career, Evans has successfully facilitated innovation and change in technology-intensive environments using quality management, lean manufacturing and project management principles. He is a member of ASQ, the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), the Institute of Industrial and System Engineers (IISE), and the Association for Talent Development (ATD).
