Advancing Beyond CAPA Compliance, Using Innovation for Improvement and Growth - Part 2

February 14, 2018

In Part 2 of the series, MasterControl Partner Ken Peterson explains how to specifically come up with innovative ideas and carry them through to fruition. He gives viewers several tools to help them generate ideas, particularly focusing on analogy and inverse. He explains both and gives viewers examples to illustrate how these tools are used.

Once you’ve come up with an idea, it’s important to ask yourself a few key questions to determine if it’s worth pursuing. Is the solution feasible? Will it create more problems than it solves? How will customers and other areas of the organization be affected? Whose approval do you need? Only when you’ve arrived at satisfactory answers to these questions can you move forward to get approval.

Getting approval can be the most difficult part of the process. There needs to be buy-in from management and, frequently, they won’t be as excited about changes as you are. That’s why Ken outlines how to put together a convincing argument and presentation to convince key stakeholders. Above all, Ken encourages persistence and that you not give up.
