SALT LAKE CITY---September 22, 2008---MasterControl Inc., a global provider of GxP process and document management software solutions for the life science and manufacturing industries, will introduce Rob Carpenter as the Customer Relationship and Product Manager for the blood and biologics industries at a hosted dinner on October 5 during the AABB Annual Meeting in Montreal.

Carpenter's position as a customer advocate and subject matter expert in blood and biologics allows him to interface with MasterControl's functional areas to ensure customer satisfaction and provide input for future product development. Carpenter has worked more than 16 years in the eye, tissue and blood banking industry, most recently as the Director of Tissue Processing for Community Blood Center/Community Tissue Services (CBC/CTS) in Dayton, Ohio. During his tenure, he worked with various medical device companies to bring thirteen new grafts to market. Carpenter was responsible for all quality and operation aspects of the Tissue Processing Department within CBC/CTS. His staff of 100 employees annually provided over 100,000 tissue grafts to recipients all around the world. Carpenter worked closely with quality to ensure compliance to FDA, AATB and ISO regulations to ensure the safest, highest quality grafts were made available. He also worked closely with department trainers to guarantee that staff members were trained on all SOP revisions and new regulations. During his tenure at CBC/CTS, Carpenter also worked in Quality Assurance as a QA Specialist and Safety Committee Chairperson. He also worked as QC Supervisor managing batch record review, labeling and release.
As an active member of American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB), Carpenter is currently serving on both the Education and Program Committees and is a course director for the AATB's Certified Specialist Training and Review Course. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Cincinnati and a certificate in Project Management from Xavier University.
