MasterControl uses AI to offer powerful product features to its customers. Many of these AI features, such as predictive analytics, search or document feature recognition, operate purely for the benefit of our customers and do not put any customer confidential data at risk.
New generative AI models (“GenAI”) can be used in ways that benefit customers but also have a different risk profile. To ensure that our customers know how we protect and use their data, we have adopted these AI Responsible Use Principles that apply to these uses of GenAI.
MasterControl’s Responsibilities
- Security. All the work we do keeps Customer Data confidential and secure. Any use of GenAI includes structural risk mitigations that allow us to provide the service or feature in ways that eliminate or reduce risks to customers’ intellectual property.
- Privacy. Customer Data and outputs are never shared across customers.
- Consent. Any products or features that directly use Customer Data to train a shared generative model is optional and any such training will only be done with a Customer’s consent.
Customer’s Responsibilities
- Human in the Loop. GenAI is not meant to replace a human, but rather to assist them. It is the responsibility of the user to review any GenAI outputs; this is traditionally referred to as ‘Human in the Loop’.
- No Guarantee of Accuracy. The nature of GenAI is that outputs may include incorrect information. Customers should evaluate the accuracy of any output as appropriate for your use case, including by using human review of the output.
- No Reverse Engineering. Customers must not scrape, extract or attempt to discover or reverse engineer any underlying components of the GenAI models, algorithms, and systems. Customers may not use the Company’s GenAI tools, systems, or models to train, develop, or improve models not provided by the Company.
- Feedback. Feedback, outputs, Customer engagement, and related information may be used to improve the tool for commercial purposes, consistent with the Company’s GenAI principles. GenAI inputs and outputs may be used for purposes of monitoring for, and helping prevent, abusive or harmful uses or outputs.
- Data Processing. Customer consents to applicable data processing and storage in the United States and Europe.
- Security. If customer discovers any vulnerabilities or breaches related to the GenAI tool, customer must promptly notify Company and provide details of the vulnerability or breach via the feedback mechanisms provided.
- Acceptable Use. Customer will use GenAI as permitted and described in the Documentation and Acceptable Use Policy.
