SALT LAKE CITY, UT, USA – December 16, 2008 – MasterControl Inc., a global provider GxP process management software solutions, today announced that it will be demonstrating the connector between MasterControl and SolidWorks’ PDMWorks® product data management solution at the SolidWorks World 2009 international user conference and exposition. The event will take place February 8-11, 2009 in Orlando, Florida and MasterControl will be demonstrating the PDMWorks Connector in booth 404. MasterControl’s interface with PDMWorks allows collaboration and redlining on PDF versions of SolidWorks® drawings while ensuring that the PDF copies in the MasterControl document control system stay in sync with the native files in the PDMWorks solution.
“The MasterControl PDMWorks Connector facilitates the secure handling of complex CAD files and helps companies overcome common product data management challenges,” said Matthew M. Lowe, MasterControl Senior Product Manager, Medical Device Expert. “The automated routing and approval made possible by MasterControl’s interface improves workflow functionality and allows effective, seamless management of CAD files in conjunction with PDMWorks.”
MasterControl’s easy-to-use system manages and tracks the creation, modification and archiving of all information relating to a product. The interface provides users with straightforward means of applying document control to CAD data without forcing designers to use a non-native application for managing CAD files. CAD files are maintained by the native PDMWorks software system while MasterControl creates PDF copies for official document control purposes such as routing, approval, and production. Users across an organization—even those who lack detailed knowledge of the CAD package—can redline and collaborate on drawings using nothing more than Adobe Reader®.
MasterControl will also be demonstrating its new MasterControl TotalMFG™ software solution at SolidWorks World 2009. MasterControl TotalMFG enables manufacturers to get their products to market faster while simultaneously maintaining regulatory compliance.
“MasterControl TotalMFG allows cross-functional teams to efficiently collaborate on critical documents and accelerate the development cycle,” said Mr. Lowe. “It can help all departments throughout an enterprise—whether it is product development, engineering, manufacturing, operations, quality, regulatory, or purchasing—streamline their processes.”
MasterControl TotalMFG allows manufacturers to launch products to market faster by enabling the entire development team to execute and communicate their tasks more efficiently using the tools with which they are already comfortable and proficient. The TotalMFG solution is an integrated enterprise system that serves as a single source for product definition and provides a central repository for all drawings, specs, manufacturing procedures, inspection criteria, marketing collaterals, bills of materials, and so forth. The system features tightly integrated applications and seamlessly integrates with the tools users work with every day such as CAD, Outlook, Word, MS Project, and more.
