If you’re working in the medical device industry, chances are you’ll be heading for MD&M West in Anaheim next week. MD&M West is the world’s largest medical OEM event.
This is an annual trek for MasterControl. This year, you can visit the MasterControl crew in Booth 1962. Stop by to visit with Jeff Haskell, Dave Stephens, and Paul Sanderson. If you sign up in advance for a brief qualitymanagement system (QMS) demo, they’ll give you a gourmet coffee card. If you are pressed for time during the day, stop by the booth Wednesday February 12 from 3:30 – 5:00 PM for a cocktail reception. Jeff, Dave and Paul will all be there to greet you and answer questions about MasterControl’s QMS.
Guest Speakers Walt Murray and Peter Knauer
While you are at the show, don’t miss MasterControl’s Walt Murray and Peter Knauer. Both are guest speakers at this year’s event.
Murray will speak on “Conducting the Validation Protocol, Collecting and Analyzing the Data” at 3:00 PM Wednesday, February 12. Knauer will present opening remarks at 10:10 AM Tuesday, February 11 and will address “PMA Submissions and Approvals: Not a Cookie Cutter Approach” at 3:45 PM that same day.
Count on both presentations being entertaining and informative.
Murray is a specialist in the quality and regulatory professions with more than 25 years’ experience to his credit, working with nationally-recognized companies. He is certified in quality systems auditing, problem solving, and process control using Six Sigma principles that support lean enterprise, including kaizen improvement and advanced planning principles. His extensive audit experience covers several industries and he's successfully brought several medical device companies to full registration under the ISO process model standard. Murray has also worked extensively in risk and supplier management and is frequently sought as a speaker at national quality meetings.
Knauer is a partner consultant with MasterControl's Quality and Compliance Advisory Services. He has more than 20 years of international experience in the biomedical industry, primarily focusing on supply chain management, risk management, CAPA, audits and compliance issues related to biopharmaceutical and medical device chemistry, manufacturing and controls (CMC) operations. He was most recently head of CMC operations for British Technology Group in the United Kingdom and he has held leadership positions for Protherics UK Limited and MacroMed. Knauer started his career at Genentech, where he held numerous positions in engineering and manufacturing management. He is currently chairman of the board for Intermountain Biomedical Association (IBA) and a member of the Parenteral Drug Association (PDA).
