SALT LAKE CITY, UT, USA – April 14, 2008 – MasterControl Inc., a global provider of GxP process and electronic document management software solutions, is pleased to announce that the Utah Technology Council (UTC) has named Amy Esser, MasterControl Human Resource Manager, the HR Executive of the Year.
Esser was given the award at UTC’s Annual Members’ Meeting on March 28, 2008 for her efforts in helping advance Utah’s burgeoning technology community.
“Amy truly is an exceptional person,” said MasterControl CEO Jon Beckstrand. “She has great analytical abilities that go beyond what one would normally expect from HR and she is able to understand how human resources fit into the overall context of business.
It is fitting that an organization that has such a strong value system and assigns such great worth to its team should have an award-winning HR executive.”
Esser has been the Human Resource Manager for MasterControl since 2005 and is based in the company’s Salt Lake City, UT headquarters. Prior to joining MasterControl she served as the Human Resource/Payroll Director for Wettstein’s in La Crosse, WI. She received a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Human Resource Management/Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in 1999.
“Amy’s innovative HR programs are a role model for other senior HR professionals,” said Richard R. Nelson, Utah Technology Council President and CEO. “She freely mentors other UTC member HR executives and has been very supportive of UTC’s HR P2P Forum.”
UTC’s P2P Forums are intended to strengthen the industry by developing management talent within Utah. The series was created in response to a focus group of top Utah technology CEOs.
In addition to the UTC award, Esser also recently earned certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). The certification, awarded by the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI), signifies that Esser possesses the theoretical knowledge and practical experience in human resource management necessary to pass a rigorous examination demonstrating a mastery of the body of knowledge in the field. To become certified, applicants must pass a comprehensive examination and demonstrate a strong background of professional human resource experience.
“Certification as a human resource professional clearly demonstrates a commitment to personal excellence and to the human resource profession,” said Susan Meisinger, SPHR, President and CEO of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
SHRM is affiliated with HRCI, the credentialing body for human resource professionals. The Institute’s purpose is to promote the establishment of professional standards and to recognize professionals who meet those standards.
