Cavium Networks, Leading Supplier for Intelligent Security Processors, Chooses MasterControl™ to Facilitate ISO Conformance
SALT LAKE CITY March 24, 2006 Cavium Networks, a worldwide leader in supplying intelligent processors for security, networking, and communications systems, has chosen the MasterControl™ quality suite to optimize its quality management system and facilitate conformance to ISO 9001 standards, according to an announcement made today by MasterControl Inc.
Cavium Networks' products includes NITROX® and MIPS64-based OCTEON processors and accelerator boards. The company's products are integrated into a wide range of networking equipment such as routers, gateways, network appliances, content switches, wireless LAN access/aggregation points, servers, and storage networking devices. Cavium Networks, located at the heart of Silicon Valley in Mountain View, Calif., is a supplier for such companies as Cisco, 3Com, F5 Networks, Fujitsu, IBM Datapower, Sun Microsystems, and Samsung.
Cavium Networks implemented MasterControl Documents™ in January and will be implementing MasterControl Forms™ at a later date. The high-tech company was looking for a complete software solution that would serve as the foundation of its quality management system, said Michael Ecoff, director of quality and reliability at Cavium Networks. Specifically, the company wanted a solution that would facilitate an organized and efficient approach to document control, revision control, electronic routing and approval, and also provide an audit trail.
Cavium Networks considered three software providers before making a decision. ?We selected MasterControl because it provides an out-of-the-box solution that's easy to use, scalable, and would seamlessly integrate into our office environment,? said Ecoff. ?It provides a complete solution that meets the needs of our robust quality management system and the requirements of ISO 9001.?
MasterControl combines affordable price with powerful performance, said Ecoff. ?It enables quick implementation with low administrative overhead, maintenance, or specialized programming,? he added.
The company believes that an optimized quality management system is not only key to ISO conformance, but also to achieving solid business results. ?It will strengthen our core business by improving operational efficiency and effectiveness, resulting in increased customer satisfaction,? said Ecoff.
The MasterControl suite consists of configurable, easy-to-use, and integrated applications for automating, streamlining, and effectively managing document control, change control, training control, audits, corrective/preventive action (CAPA), customer complaints, and other documents- and forms-based quality and business processes under a single Web-based platform.
Hundreds of companies worldwide use MasterControl to help ensure compliance with ISO 9000, ISO 13485, ISO 14000, and other ISO standards; FDA regulations such as 21 CFR Parts 11, 210-211, 820, 606; and Sarbanes-Oxley Act requirements.
